Baked Beans


Ingredients

1/2 pound bacon (I used Applegate Farms uncured Sunday Bacon)

2 (14.5 ounce) cans Navy beans or Great Northern beans, rinsed and drained

3/4 cup packed coconut palm sugar

1 apple, peeled and chopped

1 small onions, chopped

3 tablespoons organic ketchup

3 tablespoons molasses

1 tablespoon vinegar

1 tablespoon prepared mustard

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 2 1/2-quart baking dish.

Cook bacon until crisp, drain on paper towel lined plate and crumble when cool.

Mix bacon, beans, water, brown sugar, apple, onions, ketchup, molasses, vinegar, mustard, salt, and garlic powder together in the prepared baking dish. Cover dish with aluminum foil.

Bake in preheated oven until bubbling, about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
