Chocolate Cherry Almond Smoothie

Whoo-hoo it's the weekend! Changing up my weekday smoothie to celebrate! My scrumptious chocolate cherry almond smoothie! Nutritiously packed with protein and antioxidants this is one of my favorite post workout clean treats.

Ingredients

6 oz unsweetened almond milk (I use Whole Foods, 365 Everyday Value Brand; http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/about-our-products/product-lines/365-everyday-value)

1 pitted date

½” slice of fresh avocado

a splash of pure vanilla extract & pure almond extract (gluten-free)

6 Tbs powdered egg white protein (I use Now Sports Eggwhite Protein Pure Powder; https://www.nowfoods.com/sports-nutrition/eggwhite-protein-powder) 

2 Tbs hemp protein powder (I use Hemp Pro50; https://manitobaharvest.com/)

2 Tbs unsweetened cocoa

1 cup frozen pitted cherriesCacao nibs (I use Navitas Organics Cacao Nibs; http://www.navitasorganics.com/superfood-cacao)

Directions

In a large measuring cup or hand blender beaker cup combine almond milk, pitted date, slice of avocado, a splash of pure almond extract & vanilla extract, egg white protein, hemp protein, and unsweetened cocoa. Blend until smooth and powders are mixed, then add frozen cherries and blend until smooth and creamy, adding more water as needed to make it the consistency that you desire. Top with Navitas Naturals nibs, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, paleo deliciousness in a pretty glass!
